I am not a drummer and I have no idea what most of the technical terms actually mean. All I know is these headphones are perfect if you listen to metal on a good hi-fi system. They aren't focused on bass as most headphones are these days which means that I don't have turn my bass all the way down on my hi-fi CD player in my bedroom, or spending hours trying to find a good clean sound on my 500 watt vinyl player in my living room. These aren't made for mp3 players and are too much for iPhones, iPads e.t.c so if you are looking for such use , don't bother. If you want to use them on a decently powerful hi-fi system however you won't be disappointed. Whether I listen to the heavy riffs of Obituary, the blast beats of Cannibal Corpse or the little details in Voivod's albums these headphones produce a sharp, detailed and multi-layered sound that allows me to listen to difficult stuff (extreme metal for example) for hours without getting a headache . They are also super comfortable which is a big plus too, for long hours listening. I don't know how they work on other genres of music or what anybody else is searching in a pair of headphones but for metal , just like another reviewer wrote, these are perfect.

I play drums for a house of prayer in Tauranga New Zealand. Each set is two hours long. I have normally always used in-ear monitors (Ultimate ears TripleFi 10) mostly because I wear glasses and "over-ear" headphones press my ear up against the arm of my glasses.

One day I found a pair of these left in the drum cage. I tried them and was completely blown away by how good they sound. I absolutely loved them. Wearing my glasses with them did allow some sound in but they didn't hurt my head or ears at all. Without my glasses on these were a dream. They are so clear and really truly convey they instruments better than anything I have ever heard. Very comfortable for their size as well.

Unfortunately the owner wouldn't sell them to me. I plan to get a pair when I come back to the states for a visit.
