ESP Halibut Electric Bass Guitar - Harf Mat Old Natural

By using heavy and dense white ash as the center material and using hard wenge for the top and back materials and laminating, a perfect balance with tension has been achieved. Also, by using wenge for the fingerboard and head top, it contributes to improving the total balance of appearance and sound. The neck material is a 7-piece material consisting of hard maple, paduk, and walnut. Two more carbon support rods, which are the standard specifications of ESP, are installed after the 12th fret to prevent the symptomatology of neck breakage at the high fret part that tends to occur in the base. The pickup is equipped with two ESP custom lab pickups. The active circuit contains a dedicated circuit designed for halibut.

Balanced body

• The fact that a large body is needed to bring out the sound of a 5-string bass.
• An opinion from a studio player that a compact 5-string bass would make the posture worse in a sitting play style, which would hinder long-term performance.
• As a result, a large design with a center offset and a wide body width on the 1st string side was completed.
• The poor sound omission due to the loudness was solved by making the body a little thinner, and the lack of volume of sound due to the thinness was successfully corrected by sandwiching the alder with a hard wenge.
• The peculiar arched top is also a device that optimizes the clearance between the body and the strings and secures the tension of the bridge part.
• The name HALIBUT, which is the giant flatfish "halibut" that lives in the North Sea, is derived from the large, thin, and black looks of this base.

Pick up

• The pickup is a set of humbuckers exclusively for Halibut made by ESP Custom Lab. Mounted in the center is a finger lamp that helps smooth fingering.
• The pickup cover is also molded into a lamp shape.
