It's really easy to use I am a beginner when it comes to D Jane but I've been a musician for years.
An absolutely solid starter controller or a good pice of travel gear. The pads are a little squishier than I was expecting, but overall really happy with it
...I was proven wrong. Before I bought the P32, I had a Roland DJ-505. In many ways the DJ-505 is a superior deck, but I just wasn't having any fun with it. It felt like all I was doing was pressing play and blending songs together. It had actually been sold a long time ago when I discovered the P32. The price is quite low, but I was still attracted to all of those pads. This may not be as professional, but it looked like I might have some fun with it.
And fun I am indeed having with it. With the pads, it's much more than just pressing play and fading into the next song; it's an actual performance. While the song is playing, the pads and buttons invite you to play with loops, buffer sizes, and effects so that the song becomes more dynamic in your hands. And why simply crossfade into another song when you can have a sampler deck ready to go? Similar to working with Ableton's clip view, you load up samples, and play back one at a time per column. If you're good with your hands, then you can make remixes or even whole new songs on the fly. The P32 is AWESOME! I wouldn't recommend it for beginner DJ's, but for the more advanced ones looking for new tricks, this beats out the competition, I think.
Excellent controller by Hercules.
