Music Bliss actually started from a Single Bedroom sized room leveraging on a simple banner advertising strategy. It all started by teaching music and guitar students from home. We slowly grew and at its peak, we had 70 students from that little bedroom. At times, we even had to use the living room for teaching too! Through perseverance and determination to overcome adversity, we have come to a conclusion to give our customers a better environment for learning.
Our First Store
In June 2010, Music Bliss started its humble beginnings from a mini store on a second floor shop lot in Taman Sri Manja. This was all set up with just RM30K ($7,500 only). The business focused at providing music education with the objective to serve the local neighbourhood & community. Customer service was the core which made customers happy & satisfied with the service, and this gave the company more reason to continue to serve them.
It was all hard work and at times, our founder Mr. Chan even slept at this store and ate lunch and dinner from the 7 eleven from the floor below! These were the first lessons in overcoming adversity and there were many ups and downs in the process.
The Next Step Evolvement Into A Serious Retailer
In 2013, there were 2 things that prompted the leap from Music Education to a Multi-Category Music Retailer. First, Music Bliss learned that many customers were constantly searching for music & sound related equipment & gear in the vicinity but there weren’t easily accessible back then. Secondly, our founder Mr. Chan experienced frustration with being unable to find a reliable, knowledgeable & customer-centric music retailer. Customer service was a question, product prices were high & technical support was non existent. Recognizing the market’s gap, Mr. Chan decided to kickstart as a dealer in the music retailer to fulfill the requests of customers.

First Music Store in Malaysia
to Experiment with E-Commerce
While the Blogspot, Lowyat Forum and Mudah were the only options to advertise local businesses online at that moment, we were the First Music Store in Malaysia that attempted to work out an ecommerce cart based system. The first experiment we tried was through JIMDO.com, we believe information sharing in the future would be through ecommerce sites and we were always excited to explore this area of the field. Working on limited resources and desire for a more rapid improvement, our founder got his friend Mr. Chong Shee Hon who has an e-commerce background to help develop this path.
We (Music Bliss) started off with retailing 1 guitar at his shop & replicated with the same customer service orientation & passion formula. As the company progressed, we attempted to improve its services, product range & selection. With the focus on customer relationship & customer service, Music Bliss was able to grow into the Music Retailer that tried to fulfill all the local musician needs.
Today & Moving Forward
Music Bliss has expanded into a multi-storey building: The Music Bliss Building houses 4 floors of retail showroom, guitar repair centre as well a service & warranty centre. Music Bliss is strategically located in Petaling Utama, which is within the vincinity of Petaling Jaya & Kuala Lumpur. It is near to established townships such as Sunway, Puchong, Subang. Music Bliss has everything you’ll need: Guitars, Amps, Keyboards, Drums, Digital Pianos, Studio Recording Equipment, Live Sound Equipment, Accessories, etc.
We will continue to work with new & existing brand partners to bring new product categories & great selections for our customers. Hard work, collaboration & continuous improvement are core values we uphold with our brand partners: this allows us to continuously build the best customer experience possible for our clients.
