Got this pair of cans to upgrade from the ATH-M40Xs and man am I loving this buy.
Mixing and listening to music on this is such a beaut!
However, do get amps or an interface that can actually power this headphone. 250ohms is amazing, but your phone will cry trying to power this (cause it can't without an amp)
P/S: Possibly the most comfortable headphones I've ever had in my life. No joke.
I play lots of video games (COD)(NewWorld)(Phasmophobia) watch lots of movies and shows, and listen to music alot at my computer. I had corsair Void Pros and the bt990 pros sound so much better. They have a crisp sound that makes it seem like you are there. The open backs are great for me because it makes the game sound more realistic and i can hear my kid if they are getting into trouble without having to remove one side of the headphones. They fit pretty snug. I wear them for about 6-8 hours a day with no problems. The cord is reasonably long. No complaints from me after having them for about a month.
It's hard for me to state anything new about these headphones because everyone has pretty much already hit the nail on the head about these. The only thing I can do is emphasize what really stood out to me.
The biggest thing first and foremost is the comfort of wearing these headphones. I have several studio quality headphones that I use including Avantone MP1, Sony 7506, AKG ATH M50x, and a few other consumer based headphones. These DT990s are BY FAR the most comfortable headphones I have (probably the most comfortable I've ever worn).
I like that the pads are large and really cup the ear comfortably. In fact, they are the ONLY headphones I wear that DON'T produce any feedback with my hearing aid. That alone is probably worth the price of admission by itself for me.
Soundwise, I have nothing but positive experience with these. Since I also do studio work, I find that these with very well suited for music production and creating beats and songs. I also wouldn't hesitate to use them with my monitoring system when mixing either.
I paid an awesome price for these, if you can find a great deal on them, trust me, grab some. I doubt you'll regret it 👍🏿
I bought this specifically for a game called Escape From Tarkov. This is the best headset I have ever used for sound quality. You have to pare this with an amp. I got the soundblaster g2. For fps games this headset blows all of the other gaming headsets out of the water that I've tryed. I have used Astros that are more expensive and the cloud 2. These are open back headsets so you will hear noise around you in the room you are In. I think this helps with the sound performance. The only down side for me is that the Astros are slightly more comfortable. Totally worth the money!
I got these to try open-backs and have some for online guitar lessons, because closed-backs don't work well for that.
I've found I'm not a fan of open-backs in general, but I'm very impressed by the comfort of these.
They're very light, and they're made so you can easily bend them into exactly how much head-squeeze (or lack thereof) you want.
The materials feel high quality. I can't really comment on the sound because I just like closed-backs a lot more, and I have background noise in my room.
