You could definitely use this stand on stage to mic a bass drum, however I'm using mine as an alternative to the ugly desk mounted arm. I really dislike the pricing on the C-clamp set up. This is a quality mount at a fraction of the cost. The stand is a beast. Exceptionally functional and built perfectly. You're also not having to deal with any springs like the traditional desk mic stands. I also like that I can move this around on my desk when I need it and tuck it away when Its not in use. I could see someone maybe having an issue with arm length in the instance they are using it in a studio setting. However for my needs its perfect.

This mic stand is really excellent - the weight base is very heavy and holds moderate heavy mics nicely. It is extremely stable - don't listen to these reviewers that are stating it is very light and will topple over. It is 10 lbs in weight - there is no way it is toppling over. Seems like some of the competitors are out to lower the ratings of this product. Highly recommended!

Just right for holding a mic to an electric guitar amp, a mic on a table, or a webcam at eye level for online meetings that easily can be moved off the table.

Awesome, heavy-weight, as described microphone stand. Fits nicely on my desk, holds mic well. Wish I got the bit more expensive version with the counter-weight as my mic is a bit heavy and can cause to tip at very specific angles, but I knew that was a possibility. All in all I would purchase again, but spend the little extra for the counter-weighted version.
