An affordably priced, single cut Starfire has arrived. Based on the timeless Starfire II and III single cut body shape, the Starfire I SC features a 2“ thick, hollow body with an added bridge block to increase bridge stability and improved resonance. Made with a sturdy arched maple top, back, and sides, the Starfire I SC has the airy tonality of a hollow body instrument with bright overtones and pronounced lows. The 24 3/4” scale length and modern thin “U” neck profile provide a fast, smooth playing neck, while the premium Guild Vintage 18 tuners and Tune-o-matic bridge ensure the strings are accessible and in tune. Rich, vintage tone is injected by Guild’s own HB-2 Alnico II humbuckers, and the push-pull coil splitting feature allows for singing, single coil tones from either pickup. All of these features come standard on the Starfire I platform. Available in Antique Sunburst. For those looking for something a little extra, the Starfire I SC GVT comes equipped with Guild’s vibrato tailpiece featuring a roller tension bar for additional tonal versatility.

In the single cut the only color options are white and green, neither is especially desirable to me. I chose the white because green while perfect for an offset solid body "surf" guitar just seemed wrong on a rockabilly instrument. I'd love to see it in red, walnut or even natural blonde.
sounds wonderful acoustically, is a great couch guitar, very comfortable, and a joy to play. I am quite impressed!
It feels above average, sounds above average, and is a great value for this quality of semi-hollow guitar.
I had no idea what to expect. I pulled the trigger on this white Starefire I SC preferring the single cut to it's double cut.
The push-pull volume pots let you switch between humbucker and single-coil sounds. In some states of volume/tone/pickups, the jump of switching the pickups mode can be pretty dramatic between twang and roar.
