The secret to the space-saving design is the 12AX7/ECC83-based tube preamp that's married to a 20W Class AB solid-state power amp. You'll get the compact amp you want without sacrificing the ear-splitting growl you love. Complete with a shaping control, buffered effects loop, and speaker output, the Orange Terror StAmp 20-watt Hybrid Amp Head proves that big things can come in small packages.

Great sounds from a tiny package

Excellent distortion tones, very lush and full. Cleans are surprisingly nice too.

Sounds "real", not like a toy amp.

When this little monster arrived, I opened it and stared into it's insides. It looked well built and the tube is the first thing you see. Once I took it home, I plugged it in to a 240w 4x12 Peavey cab, but was not expecting the volume that comes out of this... It's loud, clear and can dish out a heavy sound with a wide range of tones controlled with the "shape" pot. It could definitely be used in a small venue, and fits in your pedal board!

Pros:
Range of gain (especially if you mess with the gain trimpot at the back)
Simple and straightforward layout
Effects send so you can use it as a preamp
Great pedal platform

Cons:
Can get wooly, especially as you crank up the gain (technically a pro if you're after more doomy / stoner sounds)
Emulated output sounds very harsh for most uses.

It's sooo HEAVY!!!!! JK.

I bought this amp to use for Church. We were trying to eliminate dragging my rockerverb half stack around, and just use the cab sim through a PA. It works very well. The tone isn’t as good with the gain up as a typical tube amp, but it’s not the worst. Very good for the price range for sure!! The value and ease of use is probably worth double the price to be honest. You can get some really good chimey tones out of this thing. I run a holy Grail reverb on it as well and it really helps.
