About the Role:
This is more than a piano-teaching position — it is a hybrid role combining music education, programme coordination and stakeholder engagement within Kawai Music School.
You will deliver music education to students at our academy and through external teaching engagements, while also supporting the smooth delivery and development of the programme across different learning environments.
Beyond teaching, you will work closely with students, parents, schools and programme partners, representing Kawai Music School professionally and helping ensure a consistent and positive experience across our teaching engagements.
You will also participate in structured training and professional development towards becoming a qualified Kawai Teacher, strengthening both your teaching capabilities and understanding of the Kawai Music School programme.
This role is suited to someone who enjoys both teaching and working with people — someone who is comfortable communicating with different stakeholders, contributing ideas and taking ownership beyond the classroom.
As you grow into the role, there will be opportunities to take on greater ownership across teaching, programme coordination and development.
What You'll Do:
- Deliver Kawai Music School's curriculum to students at our academy and through external teaching engagements.
- Conduct engaging group and individual music lessons, depending on programme requirements.
- Participate in structured training and professional development towards becoming a qualified Kawai Teacher.
- Support the coordination and smooth delivery of teaching programmes across different locations.
- Communicate and collaborate with students, parents, schools and programme partners.
- Represent Kawai Music School professionally in all teaching and programme-related engagements.
- Contribute ideas and feedback to improve programme delivery and student experience.
- Take on increasing responsibility in programme coordination and development as you grow in the role.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Solid piano proficiency (ABRSM/Trinity Grade 8 minimum, or equivalent).
- Proven experience teaching group classes.
- Genuine interest in music education and working with students.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills — comfortable engaging with different stakeholders beyond the classroom.
- Willingness to travel for external teaching engagements.
- Full commitment to a hybrid, multi-location schedule.
Preferred:
- Background or interest in early-childhood education.
- Experience working with schools, education programmes, partnerships or other. stakeholder-facing environments.
- A proactive and adaptable approach to taking ownership of responsibilities.
