Building off the Electro-Harmonix Freeze and Superego pedals, the Deep Freeze is a superlative sonic sampler and sustainer sure to inspire! Like the original Freeze, this pedal allows you to sample and hold (or freeze, rather) a section of your playing, creating shimmering pads, harmonic backdrops, and more. Three distinct modes provide a seemingly endless level of experimentation, from layered latched chords to momentary melodic whispers to even a mode partially dictated by your playing dynamics. Moreover, the Deep Freeze boasts dedicated Dry/Effect knobs, Glissando, and a multipurpose Speed/Layer knob that changes function based on your mode. And while the Deep Freeze packs far more sonic sculpting control than any previous Freeze pedal, it’s also the smallest one yet — the Deep Freeze features Electro-Harmonix’s Pico-series miniature enclosure, allowing you to pop this pedal onto your ’board while taking up minimal real estate.

- Samples a portion of your sound, allowing you to freeze chords and notes as a sonic backdrop
- Latch mode freezes sound when the footswitch is depressed, sustaining until you click the switch again
- Moment mode freezes and sustains for as long as you keep the switch depressed
- Auto mode automatically tracks and freezes signals above a certain threshold
- Speed control to adjust your attack and decay time in Moment/Auto modes
- Layer control dictates the attenuation of the previous layer when you’re in Latch mode
- Dry and Effect knobs allow you to precisely set the levels of both your wet and dry signals
- Gliss knob grants control over the morph time between frozen sounds
