A very special Dove Limited Edition celebrating 100 Years of Gibson Flat-Tops

In celebration of 100 Years of Gibson Flat-Tops, Gibson Custom is proud to introduce the Dove Anniversary Limited Edition. Part of a special Anniversary Collection of five iconic acoustic models, with only 100 guitars of each model available, this stunning and collectible Dove™ is crafted under the big skies of Bozeman, Montana, and built to inspire for generations.

The Dove Anniversary Limited Edition features AA figured maple back and sides paired with a select bear claw Sitka spruce top, delivering not only classic Dove tone, but also exceptional beauty. The back is framed by multi-ply binding. The top features multi-ply binding with abalone and an abalone rosette.

The mahogany neck has a comfortable Round profile. The bound rosewood fretboard features 20 standard frets and split parallelogram inlays in mother of pearl. The single-ply bound headstock proudly displays the vintage script-style “The Gibson” logo, which is also inlaid in mother of pearl. The headstock comes equipped with a bone nut and gold-plated Grover® tuning machines with keystone buttons.

The Dove pickguard features the classic dove-themed artwork, including a mother-of-pearl dove inlay. The rosewood Dove bridge also features two doves inlaid in mother of pearl, and is equipped with a bone saddle and TUSQ® bridge pins.

The Dove Anniversary Limited Edition is finished in a historic Cremona Burst gloss nitrocellulose lacquer and comes craftory-equipped with Baggs™ VTC electronics, with a piezo under-saddle sensor and active preamp. The soundhole-mounted volume and tone controls are easily accessible by the player while remaining all but invisible to the audience. It comes packaged in a Gibson Custom hardshell case, along with a Certificate of Authenticity.

First released in 1962 at the dawn of one of the most revolutionary and impactful decades in popular music history, the Dove was the second square shoulder model from Gibson, and the first with a 25.5” scale length and maple body construction. Decades after its introduction, it remains one of the world’s most popular, instantly recognizable, and iconic acoustic guitars. It has been used by some of the biggest names in music, including Tom Petty, Elvis, Alex Lifeson, John Mellencamp, and Frank Hannon, just to name a few. Here is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to own a limited-edition Dove celebrating a century of Gibson flat-top acoustic guitar luthiery. Act fast and get yours while they’re still available.
