The CX102 is the most accessible model in Kawai’s new CX Line of affordable digital pianos, combining authentic touch and tone
with modern features designed to support musical growth at every stage.
Scheduled for release in Autumn 2025, the CX102 features Kawai’s latest Responsive Hammer Lite keyboard action, with fully graded keys
designed to support the development of finger strength and proper technique. This action also adopts the advanced hammer-sensing and
key cushioning technologies found in Kawai’s CN series instruments, delivering responsive control and quiet operation — ideal for focused
home practice.
This keyboard action is paired with the rich, expressive sound of the Shigeru Kawai SK-EX concert grand piano, reproduced using Kawai’s
Harmonic Imaging sound technology. This allows smooth transitions in tonal character from pianissimo to fortissimo, helping developing
pianists learn to control expression and dynamics. In addition to core acoustic piano sounds, the CX102 also includes a variety of electric
pianos, organs, strings, and other instruments, with Dual and Split modes for additional fun and creativity. Its stereo speaker system delivers
impressive volume with clarity and warmth, providing a rewarding listening experience for players and audiences.
The CX102 offers a selection of useful features to support developing musicians as they advance their skills. Built-in Bluetooth® MIDI and
USB-MIDI connectivity make it easy to connect with apps such as Skoove, Tomplay, and Kawai’s PiaBookPlayer, helping to keep practice
sessions engaging and interactive. Two headphone jacks allow for quiet playing at any time, ideal for households where others may be
working or relaxing. A built-in metronome encourages a steady sense of timing, while the integrated recorder lets players listen back to their
performances and track improvement. Finally, the Lesson function includes built-in songs from popular method books, offering helpful
support for developing skills independently.
Housed within a simple, understated cabinet, the CX102 blends easily into any room. The instrument is available in Embossed Black and
Embossed White finishes, with a fold-down music rest, sliding key cover, and matching padded bench. With its reliable performance,
