Now, sE Electronics has introduced a cardioid-only version of this revered mic in the form of the sE4100-U. The 4100-U features the sophisticated design and rich sound as its “big brother,” plus the same handcrafted 1-inch true condenser capsule and a Mylar diaphragm (both gold-sputtered). The sE 4100-U’s 20Hz to 20kHz frequency range also makes it ideal for a variety of sources, including drum overheads, guitar cabs, and much more, and this matched pair bundle makes for even more utility. Lastly, the sE Electronics 4100-U sports a couple of excellent source-shaping capabilities, namely a selectable 80/160Hz low-cut filter and -10/-20dB pad.
