Truly an amazing piece of kit, I wish I'd had one 10 years ago, I wouldn't have bought any other. Great sounds, smooth controls sturdy build, I can't fault this amplifier.
I have had several Bugera amps in the past, such as the V22, V55, T50 and now the G20.
I haven't kept any of the Bugera amps so far, because the clean sound was quite decent, but the overdrive and distortion channels always sounded disappointing. The distorted sound always sounded immature, grainy and tended to muddy. All previous amps were miles away from a creamy, fine-resolution distortion.
Whatever was done differently with this amp - despite only two preamp tubes - I can't say. I can only say that I have to put all my previous reservations about Bugera Amp's with this amp aside.
The G20's distortion channel sounds just great. Smack the notes and sing that it's a real joy.
Even with a low gain intensity, the amp sounds nice and crunchy and round, never scratchy and uncomfortable.
But the clean channel also does its job excellently and also works very well with upstream pedals.
Overall, Bugera has achieved a real price-performance hit with this amp and if the amp remains technically stable for the next few years, nothing stands in the way of a loyal relationship.
ITS MORE THAN CORRECT FOR THE PRICE TO SEE OVER THE DURATION
Wow!. This amp is truly awesome, versatile and I still can not believe the price. When compared with a Blackstar it looks very similar but is half the cost. I would recommend this amp to anyone, don't be put off by the name.
