GREAT LITTLE AMP GREAT PRICE AND SOUND GET ONE
I'd originally ordered the bugera bc15 which arrived faulty, so took the chance to upgrade my replacement to this the V5. What an amp for the money!! The build quality is really good and solid and the styling is nice.
The tone is wonderful. I play mainly bluesy (with some overdrive very occasionally from a pedal) and this has a gorgeous warm depth and is representative of a much more expensive bigger valve amp.
The attentuator is very helpful but I don't think the sound through headphones is particularly good (but still useful for quiet practice).
Having owned a range of much more expensive amps over the past twenty years, as I was getting back into playing I looked a long time for a good small true valve practice amp. I would highly recommend this. Just buy it you won't be disappointed!
Really good amp for the price, quite heavy on the mids though so oftentimes you have to crank the tone to get a less dull sound. (This may just be my own personal view however)
This is a seriously good amp if you are after a bluesy natural tone that is rediculously touch sensitive.
I spent weeks tube rolling (I have a tons of tubes) and what I have found has transformed this amp fron a good amp to an amazing amp that I can't stop playing.
With the following I get a glassy top end that is reminicent to a Fender tone but also keeping the thick vintage breakup and warmth.
Here are the secret ingredients;
Russian 6p14p (not the gold grid EV model. The cheaper standard model sounds better - I tried both)
Harma 12ax7 (from Watford valves)
I also bought the 112TS Bugera cabinet. Its amazing for the price.
Hope this helps others looking to improve the tone and also bring some brightness in.
This is an awesome amp. Great tones and just simple to use. Takes pedals well and is loud for the wattage. Size and quality are good too. Glad I did not spend more on another brand as this one is perfect!
