Besides sounding great, they've got good power, they're fun to turn up, and easily have enough enough power for solid bass in an office sized room. I've used them for mixing and adjusting recording levels, and I really trust them at this point. They don't take up much space on a desktop either.

If you're in the music game, whether it's producing, mixing tracks down, recording, these speakers made a good choice for a starter studio. You've got nice crisp highs. Very low, warm bass. The overall sound quality is solid, considering what they cost. Speakers were easy to set up and use, we actually got a second set that comes with the lighting, as well. But here's something you need to know.

When it comes to studio equipment, you get what you pay for. Whether it be a mic, headphones, acoustic panels, etc. If you have COSTING to drop on a pair of Yamaha or KRK studio monitors, awesome. They'll work beautifully, and they're not even the upper end of what you could get for your studio. Hercules is offering you a chance to get quality studio monitors, but for less than a hundred bucks. Which is a great deal, just keep in mind that you won't get the same overall quality as a pair that will set you back five c-notes or more. So if you go in with that expectation, than these are definitely five-star studio monitors, for the price point. Which makes them ideal for a starter or mid-level studio (based on your budget). So get them for yourself, or as a gift for someone looking to set up their first basic recording studio.

The monitors are perfect for my needs as studio monitors via an audio interface (not included) attached to my laptop. Even though I'm only using these as reference monitors (I mix at a different workstation) they sound great and have a really surprising bass response for the size of the speakers.

I had to buy 1/4" to RCA cables to use with my audio interface that only has 1/4" outputs. If you're not using an interface, the 1/8" plug will work fine with the headphone output on most laptops, or other audio devices.

While I wouldn't mix on these, they faithfully reproduce the audio from my MIDI interface in a nice small footprint, and look great at the same time. These are a major step up from most "computer" speakers. I suppose these would also serve well as shelf-top speakers for most stereo systems.

I'm very happy with them, very surprised at the high quality at this price point, and would recommend them to anyone who needs good reference monitors.

My office studio contains professional monitors, but my home setup has seen stuck with a pair of generic "computer speakers" for much too long. So I was eager to give this pair of modestly-sized and -priced monitors a try.

This is perfect for my computer and music studio
